Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £106,000 major resurfacing scheme on Drumsurn Road (C 529), Limavady this week.
Resurfacing work is expected to start at the end of January near Drummond Cricket Club and preparatory works are currently underway.
The Minister said: "The scheme will benefit road users for many years to come and will include the provision of a surface water drainage system and an improved running surface through the use of high quality surfacing materials."
During the preparatory works temporary traffic management will be in place and only minor delays are expected. However it will be necessary to close Drumsurn Road for a few days to facilitate resurfacing operations. Advance notice of the closure will be given by information boards erected on site and suitable diversions will be sign posted.
The works will be completed by 9th February subject to favourable weather conditions and Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.
