Education Minister, John O'Dowd, has officially opened a refurbished art block at St Joseph's College, Coleraine.
The £163,000 investment under the minor works scheme has seen the upgrade of facilities for pupils studying art and pottery.
The Minister said: "Since my appointment as Education Minister, I have made clear my intention to invest in the upgrade of the education estate. In the last two years I have announced a major works programme worth £350million alongside increased spend on minor works and maintenance. I have also opened the Schools Enhancement Programme to enable more schools to avail of funding. This is despite the challenging financial environment we are operating in.
"I believe this continued investment is vital if we are to provide our school staff with the equipment and environment they need to deliver a high quality education to our children and young people. It also demonstrates my commitment to ensuring we support school staff in the important work they do.
"I was pleased to have the opportunity to visit St Joseph’s College today and see the impact of this investment. It is clear that the whole school community at St Joseph’s is committed to providing the best possible education to the young people who attend the school. This investment will help improve the educational experience of current and future pupils."
