Sinn Féin Enterprise Spokesperson, Phil Flanagan, has said the announcement of a £134m cash injection into refurbishing schools was a "good day" for education and a boost to the construction industry.

Mr Flanagan said: "The Education Minister's announcement of 51 school refurbishment projects worth in the region of £134million is great news for schools but is also a timely boost for the construction industry.

"Schools right across the North will ultimately benefit from the school refurbishment programme.

"But just as importantly it will also provide a much-needed financial injection for the construction sector and the local economy."
