An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Carrie Smyth, has officially opened the newly constructed unisex changing facility at Sandycove Harbour.

Despite its modest size, the planning and construction of the shelter has taken three years to complete and required the acquisition by the Council of the old Fisherman's hut.

An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Carrie Smyth said: "I am delighted to see the shelter for the bathers of Sandycove come to fruition. It has been especially welcomed by the dedicated bathers who have had to change in all weathers. The building is in keeping with the scenic location."
