Dublin City Councillor Mary Fitzpatrick has stated that Dublin City Council needs to engage fully with NAMA to deliver the 324 completed/contracted houses to those awaiting social housing in the four Dublin Local Authority areas as a matter of urgency.

Councillor Fitzpatrick said: "The lack of supply in the property market, particularly in Dublin, is the root of the problem here. However, in the short term Dublin City Council needs to engage with NAMA today to deliver the units to those in urgent need of accommodation.

"According to Minister Jan O'Sullivan there are 324 properties that are completed/contracted, why have they not been released to Dublin City Council? Today there are 20,000 people on Dublin's social housing waiting list, although releasing 324 properties will not solve this issue it will make the world of difference to over three hundred families or those who have fallen on hard times."
