New Hospital To Be Built In Omagh

SDLP West Tyrone MLA Joe Byrne has welcomed a high court judge's decision to give the green light to the Western Trust's preferred bidder for the construction contract for the new Omagh Hospital in County Tyrone.

Mr Byrne was commenting after Justice Stephens made the decision in a report published on Thursday. Mr Byrne said: "I welcome the green light given by Mr Justice Stephens to let the Western Trust's preferred bidder begin construction on the new Omagh Hospital.

"Not only is this good news for the health sector in the entire area, it is also good news for the local construction sector, as this contract can now be freed, creating a domino effect for subcontractors and local tradesmen. This decision also frees up other health-related projects over a four-year period."
