The Executive is being urged to take action to help construction industry recovery following the publication of the Federation of Master Builders' survey.
The latest 'State of Trade' survey shows the economy has still a long way to go o bring the industry back to pre-recession workload levels.
SDLP MLA for Mid-Ulster Patsy McGlone said: "It is important that the Assembly, the Executive and all public representatives commit themselves to aiding this process through the expeditious delivery of capital works projects like the community safety college at Desertcreat and school new builds.
"With the cost of utilities and materials expected to continue to rise over the rest of 2014, small construction firms will once again feel the pinch. Building costs and overheads will continue to rise, decreasing already slim margins for small business owners."
