The Ulster Unionist Party is calling for the Executive to dedicate to the building of a new college on the Desertcreat site in Northern Ireland.
The construction of the Northern Ireland Community Safety College has been plagued with delays from the beginning.
Mid-Ulster Unionist, Sandra Overend, said: "In recent weeks media coverage has cast doubt on the delivery of the college at the Desertcreat site, with Jonathan Craig of the DUP particularly vocal in questioning the viability of the project, and calling for the exploration of alternatives.
"For the people of Mid-Ulster this was bitterly disappointing. Having been hit hard by the economic downturn, they have long been promised that the construction of this facility will bring jobs and trade to Cookstown and the surrounding areas."
Following a meeting with the Director of the Northern Ireland Community Safety Programme Board, Ms Overend said subject to Executive approval the project will go-ahead.
