The public is being urged to view the outline plans for the redevelopment of a 40 acre site in the Waterside area, L'Derry.

SDLP Waterside Cllr Martin Reilly has welcomed the plans.

Mr Reilly said: "The Top of the Hill area needs investment in play provision, and I am glad to see this plan incorporates facilities for community use and also provision of a GAA pitch, as well as some housing provision.

"Many people in the Waterside were disappointed to see closure of Immaculate Conception College, but this land now provides the opportunity to significantly invest in the lives of young people in the area by providing these much needed facilities.

The plans will be submitted for planning permission later this year.
