Dublin City Council is inviting submissions from the public and interested parties on whether the Local Property Tax (LPT) should be varied in Dublin City.
Section 20 of the Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 allows Dublin City councillors to vary the rate by plus or minus 15%. However, it is stipulated that the Council must ask the public for its views on any proposals and take these views into account before making a decision.
An online survey will be available to complete from 15 July until 13 August.
Revenue from the LPT will accrue to Local Authorities and go towards the support of local services.
All submissions received are to inform a Chief Executive’s report that will be presented by Dublin City Council to the Elected Members on Monday 22 September 2014.
