Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has become the latest authority to vote to cut the Local Property Tax by 15%.
The motion was brought forward by Fine Gael and Labour on Tuesday (15 July) and Councillors voted in favour. Councils are able to amend the rate applied by reducing, or increasing it, by 15%.
Several Councillors have argued that the property tax was unfair.
Earlier this week, Fingal County Council said it was also to reduce the tax by 15%.
A consultation period will now get underway before a final decision on the matter is made in September.
