An Bord Pleanála has refused planning permission for a proposed nine-turbine wind farm in the Kerry-Cork border region, near Kilgarvan.
The board cited "a perceived risk" to a recently introduced white-tailed sea eagle to the area, along with the visual impact of the wind farm and a need for new roads.
A number of objections to the proposal had been lodged, including shadow-flicker and noise.
