Footway Improvement Scheme To Start In Newtownards

A £120,000 footway improvement scheme in Newtownards is to start on 8th September.

The project, on the Old Shore Road, includes minor carriageway realignment and localised widening has been identified and prioritised under the Department's Local Transport and Safety Measures programme.

Works are expected to be substantially complete by the end of October.

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy said: "This scheme will improve accessibility and safety of pedestrians with the construction of 345 metres of footway along the Canal side of this busy road in Newtownards between The Oaks and The Paddock Developments."
