OakleeTrinity Housing Association is to invest over £3m on improving tenants bungalows in Bangor.
The improvements programme includes the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, double glazing windows, gas-fired central heating, cavity wall insulation. It will be carried out in six phases.
Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland said: "I welcome the opportunity to visit Bloomfield bungalows and view the commencement of this work. As public funds become more limited, this significant injection of private funding secured by OakleeTrinity will ensure that the 72 homes in Bloomfield receive the improvements they need."
Arthur Canning, Chief Executive of Operations for OakleeTrinity, said: "As Northern Ireland's largest housing association, we are leading the way to develop a better quality of life for our tenants through providing and delivering quality social housing to meet a range of needs.
"As work has begun on the £3.2million investment to upgrade 72 properties at Bloomfield, OakleeTrinity are working with tenants and the local community to ensure that minimum disturbance is caused, we value their contribution and involvement throughout the upgrade improvements."
