Tír na nÓg GAC were awarded £246,000 under the Rural Development Programme (RDP) through GROW south Antrim and Minister O’Neill praised the dedication of the Club and its members for their extensive fundraising activities to bring this project to completion.
Officially opening the new facilities Rural Development Minister Michelle O'Neill said: "Today is an important milestone for Tír na nÓg GAC. The hard work and dedication of club members and the wider community demonstrates what is possible when rural communities come together to achieve their goals.

"The RDP funding of £246,000, alongside the tremendous fundraising efforts of Club members and officials, to reach a total of approximately £350,000 has been instrumental in providing the local community with this excellent new facility and I am certain it will be of immense value not only in providing sports and leisure facilities, but in continuing to build the strong community spirit that is evident in Randalstown."
Highlighting the success of the current RDP, which is drawing to a close, Minister O’Neill has encouraged members of the community to consider becoming involved in the Local Action Group in advance of the new 2014-2020 Programme.
