Sinn Féin has slammed the Regional Development Minister after many areas in Newry and Armagh were affected by flooding on Thursday following heavy rain.
Newry and Armagh MLA Mickey Brady said the flooding has caused serious hardship to people.
He said: "The regional development minister Danny Kennedy made cuts to flood prevention measures such as cleaning gullies and drains and keeping them free from leaves.
"He was warned then that this was a false economy and the flooding is testament to that. He must look again at how he is managing his budget."
