Construction work is progressing well on the new £14m forensics laboratory in Carrickfergus.
Justice Minster David Ford visited the Forensic Science Northern Ireland (FSNI) site today, Tuesday, which is due to be complete in September next year.
The laboratory is expected to be fitted out and fully operational by March 2016.
Minister Ford said: "Forensic science has a crucial role providing support to the justice system. Forensic Science Northern Ireland is already a leader in its use of DNA 17 techniques and the new laboratory will help deliver on my commitment to a faster and fairer justice system for the community in Northern Ireland."
