Significant progress is being made on the refurbishment of the Loyal Orange Institution's Schomberg House on the Cregagh Road, Belfast.

The refurbishment is part of the Reaching out through Education and Cultural Heritage (REACH) project, funded through the European PEACE III Programme, which aims to promote tolerance and mutual respect. The project will also involve a cross-community and cross-border outreach programme aimed at schools, community groups, historical societies and the general public.

• the extension of the interpretive centre which will include a museum to display items and artefacts relating to the history of Orangeism

• a research facility to house the Loyal Orange Institution's archive from its inception in 1795

• an educational resource involving formal and community based learning frameworks.
