A housing association has put forward plans to build new properties in Banbridge.
Clanmil Housing said the proposed development would involve building 33 new homes on Dromore Street.
The homes will include special provisions for pensioners and disabled people.
SDLP For Upper Bann Dolores Kelly said it would boost the construction sector.
Mrs Kelly said: "These houses would not only provide secure housing for families but also give a long overdue boost to our lagging construction industry.
"I would like to commend Clanmil Housing for demonstrating consideration for older people and those with disabilities who can find it difficult to find homes that suit their requirements."
