Sinn Féin has hit out at the government's climate change bill claiming it has failed to set out long-term targets for cutting down Irish greenhouse gas emissions.
Sinn Féin Dublin MEP Lynn Boylan accused Minister Kelly of 'picking up from where Phil Hogan left off' when it comes to climate change.
She said: "The government legislation lacks substance and missed an opportunity to make a specific commitment to reduce emissions.
"Government inaction on this issue led to Sinn Féin reintroducing the all-party Climate Change Bill of 2010. This alternative Bill included all the things that are lacking in this government's lacklustre attempt to tackle the issue of climate change."
