The SDLP is supporting a moratorium on fracking, which is due to be voted on in Westminster today.

SDLP Fermanagh Councillor John Coyle welcomed the potential amendment that would see a secession of fracking across the UK.

He said: "It is very encouraging to see that moves are being made at the highest level to hamper the introduction of fracking to Fermanagh.

"It is hoped that a ban on fracking in Britain will create a precedent and principle that we can use here in Fermanagh and also represents a statement of intent that the SDLP will support all efforts to end the destructive practice of fracking and support local interests."
