Significant progress is being made on the Kilmainham Gaol and Courthouse refurbishment scheme in Dublin.
The Minister of State with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works (OPW), Simon Harris TD, visited the site today (17 February), to view the ongoing work, which started in 2013.
Minister Harris said: "I am mindful that Kilmainham Gaol is associated with key events in Irish history and it is therefore fitting that this signature capital development will be completed in time for the 2016 centenary commemorations."
The first element of work is the refurbishment of the former Kilmainham Courthouse and its adaptation for visitor facility and curatorial purposes. The second element of the work is the refurbishment of the Museum.
