The Alliance Party has welcomed the announcement that funding to the Mortgage Debt Advice Service (MDAS) is to be increased.

The funding is to rise by £340,000, which is a 50% increase.

Mr Dickson said: "There is an expectation that the demand for advice services will increase significantly due to the number of households in Northern Ireland exposed to interest rate rises. This funding increase will enable more vulnerable households who are in mortgage crisis to access the great work the Housing Rights Service is providing. This will effectively go on to reduce the risk of people facing homelessness and repossession."
