Work on a £350,000 resurfacing scheme on the Glenshane Pass in L'Derry is to begin on 23 March.
Transport NI will carry out the work on the 2km scheme in the vicinity of Eden Quarry.
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on this strategic route between the North West and Belfast."
The scheme is expected to be substantially completed by early April.
