Irish firm Energia Renewables has confirmed it has reached financial close on a €145m wind farm development in Donegal.
The Meenadreen Extension wind farm will use 38 Nordex N90 turbines to provide over 255 gigawatt hours each year, enough to power 70 thousand homes, and will also involve the development of a new €11m substation.
Peter Baillie, Managing Director, Energia Renewables said: "We are delighted to reach this significant milestone in the development of our flagship 95MW Meenadreen Extension wind farm project. The development of this new wind farm is a very positive step forward for renewable energy in Ireland and this is something that is very important to us."
