Construction work is to start this month to complete sewer relining and repair work on the existing brick sewer on the Ravenhill Road in south Belfast.
The £500,000 contract will continue for approximately four weeks.
Work will take place between 8pm and 6am to complete sewer relining and repair work. It will take place between Cherryvale Playing Fields and Broughton Park (city side of Park Road). It will involve the use of environmentally-friendly underground trenchless technology to complete the repairs without the need to open large trenches.
In a statement, NI Water said: "Stage 2 of the work will take place during July and August 2015 and will involve working between 7am and 9pm to complete sewer relining and repair work between Park Road and My Lady's Road (Orchardville Business Centre).
"Again, this work will involve the use of trenchless techniques to complete the repairs along with some limited open excavation work. The work is required to repair and renew the existing sewers in poor condition and will help reduce the risk of flooding.
"We will endeavour to work Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, however there may be occasional circumstances when Sunday work is necessary."
