Representatives from NI housing association Oaklee Trinity welcomed the Social Development Minister to an open day at its sheltered housing project in Ballymoney, Co Antrim.
Shiels Court, on Ballymoney's Castle Street, consists of 36 flats where older tenants can enjoy an independent lifestyle in the knowledge that support is available onsite.
Minister Mervyn Storey said: "This style of housing is an excellent way to support the independence of older people in a safe and secure environment. The accommodation is of a high quality and tenants are safe in the knowledge that support is available should they need it."
Timothy Quin, Chairman of OakleeTrinity, said: "OakleeTrinity welcomes the Minister for Social Development, Mr Mervyn Storey, to Shiels Court.
"OakleeTrinity have over 35 years experience providing housing and support services for older people, such as here at Shiels Court which is a showcase of our work in providing residents with a safe and secure environment right in the heart of Ballymoney town."
