NI Water and its contractor Lagan Construction have started essential watermains improvement work in Annaclone, Co Down.
The work on Sentry Box Road is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
The £130,000 investment will be used to upgrade water mains and will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply, while reducing leakage and improving pressure in the area.
The investment is part of an overall £2,600,000 investment in the wider Lisburn, Dromore, Banbridge and Newry areas.
The work will involve the installation of 1600 metres of new water main from the Ballynanny Road junction to replace the existing main along Sentry Box Road.
Access to all properties adjacent to the works will be maintained at all times, with appropriate measures also taken to ensure the safe passage of road users and pedestrians.
