Fianna Fáil has hit out at the Taoiseach over his continued silence and delay in publishing a letter sent by the Fortress Group from an unsuccessful bidder of NAMA's £1.3 billion property porfolio in Northern Ireland.

Deputy Leader Micheál Martin asked the Taoiseach at Leaders' Questions to confirm or deny whether such correspondence had been received, however 48 hours later, the Taoiseach has still not provided clarity.

Deputy Martin said: "The Taoiseach's continued silence is not sustainable. The only message emerging from his Department is that his officials are looking for correspondence and cannot give a definitive answer on whether or not they received it. As each hour passes, this position becomes increasingly untenable."

Deputy Martin called on the Taoiseach to make a statement over the issue.
