Sinn Féin is calling for all building in the Docklands area in Dublin to be audited to establish what buildings need to be repaired.
Councillor for the Pembroke-South Dock area Chris Andrews said the buildings need to be protected to protect their value.
He said: "The Gallery Quay apartments are still waiting on major repairs to be carried out, so clearly there is a pattern of poor building standards in the Docklands and all buildings need to be audited in the Docklands area as a matter of urgency.
"While the council CEO has recently indicated that here is no immediate risk of residents of Longboat Quay being made homeless as a result of the sub-standard adherence to fire safety regulations, steps must be taken to reassure residents in other Dockland properties."
