A £5 million investment scheme to improve and regenerate Lisburn City Centre is now complete.
Lisburn & Castlereagh Council, in partnership with the Department for Social Development (DSD), undertook the public realm scheme.
The scheme covers the heart of the city centre, transforming Market Square with a new events space that includes feature lighting columns, an interactive LED light floor and water features.
Paving has been upgraded across the Square and along connecting streets which include Bow Street, Haslems Lane and Market Street.
Social Development Minister Mervyn Storey MLA said: "This was an ambitious project and I am delighted to see at first hand that the vision from the overall Lisburn City Centre Masterplan has been fully realised and delivered through the completion of this Public Realm Scheme.
"The £3million investment by my Department alongside the significant investment by the Council, will put Lisburn City on a firm footing, where those who live, work and visit the City will enjoy renewed growth, investment and prosperity."
