NI Water And Conwell Contracts To Rebuild Manhole In East Belfast

NI Water and contractor Conwell Contracts are carrying out urgent work on a manhole which was discovered in a very poor condition in east Belfast.

To carry out the essential work, Dee Street – between Severn Street and the Sydenham Road roundabout – will be closed from Monday 23 to Friday 27 November.

Diversions will be put in place during the works.

In a statement NI Water said: "It is anticipated that the overall programme of works on the Mersey Street project (not the Dee Street closure) will be completed by December 2015.

"Once complete, this essential programme of work will improve the sewerage infrastructure in the local area and will reduce the risk of flooding.

"NI Water and our contractor Conwell Contracts would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation and will do everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum."
