Motorists are being urged to expect delays after a £140,000 improvement scheme in Donaghadee has been given the go-ahead.
TransportNI is to begin preparatory drainage work on the Killaughey Road and resurfacing work is to begin on Monday, 18 January 2016.
The resurfacing scheme is expected to be substantially completed by early February 2016.
Regional Development Minister Michelle McIlveen said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength, shape, drainage and surface quality of the carriageway on a 1,500 metre section of this important C Class link road between Newtownards and Donaghadee."
Local access will be maintained and all diversions and restrictions will be clearly signposted.
