A number of infrastructural projects have been included in the NI Assembly's 2016-2017 budget.
Sinn Féin MLA Declan McAleer welcomed the investment and said it is important for both economic development and supporting the construction sector.
Mr McAleer said: "The budget contains funding for a number of key strategic infrastructural projects, including £229 million for the A5 development. This is great news for communities along the route and absolutely vital to address the infrastructure deficit which exists west of the Bann.
"The £66m allocated in the budget to structural maintenance is also a significant boost as not only will it improve our existing road network and, as a result, make our roads safer, it will also help struggling construction workers.
"This £10 million uplift will no doubt be welcomed by subcontractors in west Tyrone and in other areas."
