Planning permission for wind farms to be developed in County Meath have been rejected.
Sinn Fein candidate for East Meath, Darren O'Rourke, welcomed Bord Pleanála's decision.
He said: "This is of course a welcome decision. The people in the area have expressed their disdain at these proposals for quite a while now. It's fantastic to see the will of the people in the local community being listened to."
The proposals included the development of 46 wind turbines across the north of County Meath.
