The DUP has welcomed the announcement that SSE Airtricity is to cuts its prices for customers in the Greater Belfast area.
Last week the firm announced a 10.2% average decrease in gas prices and a 10.3% reduction in electricity tariffs.
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Jonathan Bell, said the planned reduction follows continuing falls in wholesale gas prices on the world market, and reflects the latest estimates on forward prices.
He said: "Northern Ireland customers have some of the lowest gas prices in the EU, the revised SSE Airtricity prices will be around 23% lower than standard gas prices in Great Britain, and some 22% lower than standard gas prices in the Republic of Ireland.
"News that SSE Airtricity electricity prices will fall by 10.3% with effect from 1 June 2016 is also extremely welcome news for consumers right across Northern Ireland."
