Significant improvements have been made to the water pressure in Kildorrery, Co Cork, according to initial reports.

Irish Water in partnership with Cork County Council developed a hydraulic model of the network to help locate anomalies on the existing network, following complaints about low water pressure in the area.

The anomalies were investigated and repaired by Cork County Council, on behalf of Irish Water. The work included the repair of leaking pipes and valves that were no longer working properly.

Aisling Buckley, Irish Water's Regional Information Officer for the South, said: "In addition to these repairs, Irish Water is also working with Cork County Council to progress the construction of a new reservoir in Kildorrery, which will provide additional storage capacity to the water supply network in the village. Combined with on-going network improvement works, the new reservoir will continue to improve water pressure for customers in Kildorrery and provide additional capacity and a more secure supply for homes and businesses in the village and surrounding areas."
