Grifols Brings Forward Plans To Extend Biologics Plant In Dublin

Spanish plasma pharmaceuticals group Grifols has brought forward plans to develop a purification plant at its biologics site in Grangecastle, Dublin.

The firm is to invest an additional $85 million at its biologics plant due to rising demand.

Construction work will begin towards the end of this year, with the plant expected to be operation-ready in early 2020.

Martin Shanahan, Chief Executive of IDA Ireland said: "Grifols only opened its plant at Grange Castle last year and already we can see how it is contributing to the company’s global operations. Ireland is rapidly developing an internationally recognised hub for biologics and Grifols’ latest investment will strengthen this further."
