Concerned Cruise Park residents have attended a meeting to discuss their pending evictions from their homes in Tyrrelstown, Dublin.
Sinn Féin councillor Paul Donnelly hosted the meeting and proposed a suspension of standing orders to deal with the urgent matter, before 208 families are made homeless.
He also called for the Twinlite property management group to publicly commit to a suspension of any eviction notices unless the tenants have alternative accommodation.
Cllr Donnelly said: "I am very pleased that Threshold also committed to working with the residents affected and will provide them with any support that Threshold can offer.
"I also asked that Fingal Council would write to the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Alan Kelly to ensure the enactment of strong legislative protection for tenants whose homes have been bought by vulture funds as in the case of Cruise Park, Tyrrelstown."
