Northern Ireland's construction industry has been given a boost after the Education Minister announced an additional ten school projects as part of a £40 million capital investment.
Minister John O'Dowd, who made the announcement, said new state of the art facilities will be installed in the primary schools.
The funding will be used to advance to planning the following ten Primary School projects:
• St Vincent de Paul PS, Belfast
• New Primary School to amalgamate: St Mary's PS, Annalong; St Joseph's PS, Kilkeel; and Moneydarragh PS, Annalong
• Islandmagee PS – a new Primary School created from the amalgamation of Mullaghdubh PS and Kilcoan PS, Islandmagee
• Gaelscoil Aodha Rua, Dungannon
• St Peter's PS, Collegelands, Dungannon
• Gaelscoil Eanna, Newtownabbey
• Crawfordsburn PS, Crawfordsburn
• Seaview PS, Belfast
• St Malachy's PS, Armagh
• King's Park PS, Lurgan
Minister O'Dowd said: "I would encourage schools to consider applications to future School Enhancement Programme calls. This programme has the potential to move more quickly than a major project and with an upper ceiling of £4million, can make a substantial difference to a school in need of capital investment."
