Call For Safety On All Piers, Slips And Jetties To Be Assessed

Sinn Fein has written to Fingal County Council requesting a review of all piers, slips and jetties after five people were killed when their car went off a pier in County Donegal.

Sinn Fein TD for Fingal Deputy O'Reilly said the safety issue must be assessed to ensure that such a tragedy is not repeated.

Deputy O'Reilly said: "I have today written to the Chief Executive of Fingal County Council to request that this review take place as a matter of priority. All piers, slips and jetties in the region must be assessed for safety and appropriate signage be put in place."
