Louth County Council Slammed Over Eviction Decision

Sinn Fein has slammed a decision by Louth County Council to evict over 20 Traveller families from a car park in Dundalk.

Gerry Adams TD has expressed his "Serious concerns" after being ordered to leave the site by An Garda Síochána.

He said: "The decision by Louth County Council to evict 22 families from the Woodland halting site has precipitated a human crisis for many them. Families, many with small children, who have already been traumatised by being evicted now face a second eviction from their current site.

"Louth County Council bears the primary legal responsibility for dealing with this crisis."
