The party also accused Fianna Fáil of using the scrapping of Irish Water as a "smokescreen to deflect attention from their intention to only suspend water charges".
Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley said in the absence of a Sinn Féin-led government, it will hold the other parties who promised likewise to account.

The Laois TD said: "Fianna Fáil are using their proposal to scrap Irish Water as a smokescreen to deflect attention away from their stated position that they only intend to suspend domestic water charges. This is unacceptable to the people who would have voted Fianna Fáil on their anti-water charge stance during the election.
"Domestic water charges must be abolished, not suspended. That is what the people voted for."
