Dublin Mid-West TD Eoin Ó Broin has been appointed to the new 14 member committee which will present an interim report to the Dáil by 28 April and a final report by 17 June.
Deputy Ó Broin said: "There are problems of access, quality and supply in the social housing, private housing and private rental sectors.

"Sinn Féin proposed the creation of this new Committee to provide TDs from across the House to bring forward recommendations on actions that can be taken to address the causes of the problem. We are delighted that our proposal has been supported by all TDs.
"We would like to see those working and living at the coalface of the housing and homeless crisis to come to the Committee and give their views on what needs to be done. We would like Minister Kelly to attend the Committee to engage in the debate and answer questions from TDs.
"Most importantly we want to see a report that brings forward new solutions to our housing crisis."
