Plans to develop a new National Maternity Hospital in Ireland have been delayed.
The Labour Party has called on the Minister for Health to "intervene immediately" over the location of the new hospital.
Senator Kevin Humphreys said the delays are "totally unacceptable".
He said: "The dispute between the National Maternity Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital stems from a row between the two parties over who should have governance control over the proposed new hospital on the campus of St Vincent's Hospital.
"I appreciate the importance of effective governance structures being put in place. However, it is totally unacceptable that women should have to wait any longer for a new maternity hospital to be built."
