The Kingspan Group, headquartered in Co Cavan, has reported a strong start to 2016 with sales of €903 million for the four months to 30 April - 25 per cent ahead of the year before.

However, Kingspan said there has been an "understandable easing in order placement in the non-residential segments in advance of the 23 June referendum" in the UK over the last two months.

Insulated Panel sales revenues increased by 37 per cent in the period with most key markets ahead, reflecting both penetration gains and increased market activity in some territories.

Insulation Board sales revenues were up 11 per cent in the period reflecting a good UK performance.

Access Floors sales revenues rose by 6 per cent.

Environmental sales revenues decreased by 3 per cent however 2016 has seen further progress on the recovery in divisional performance evidenced in 2015.
