Energy firm ESB has appointed a new Group Finance Director.

The Board of ESB selected Pat Fenlon to take up the post.

Mr Fenlon was previously General Manager of Electric Ireland, Corporate Change Manager and Group Finance & Commercial Manager.

He will replace Donal Flynn who is to take up the post of Chief Financial Officer with Glen Dimplex.

Mr Pat O'Doherty, ESB Chief Executive said: "I would like to congratulate Pat on his appointment as our new Group Finance Director. He takes on this role at a challenging time for the energy industry and brings with him enormous business experience. I am very confident Pat will do an outstanding job for our organisation."
