A man from Co Armagh has been found guilty for waste offences.
Mr Bernard Hughes from Crossmaglen was made the subject of a £5,000 compensation order and received four months' sentence, suspended for three years, at Newry Magistrates' Court.
He was found guilty of keeping controlled waste without there being in place an exemption or licence.
On 4 February 2014, officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) carried out a site inspection on lands at Cullaville Road where they found controlled waste including waste clay, stone, vehicle batteries, vehicle tyres, numerous vehicle parts and End of Life Vehicles (scrap vehicles). All were present without the necessary permissions required by the NIEA.
