Council Seeks Views On €910,000 Town Park Project

Clare County Council are seeking residents' views on a proposed €910,000 town park project in Shannon.

A five-week consultation is underway on the scheme, which involves upgrading and incorporating the existing town park woodland and adjacent Rineanna Park into a flagship town park.

A landscape architect and urban designer were appointed alongside a full design team in late September to progress the design and planning phases of the project. If approved, contractors could be on site in mid-2017.

Councillor John Crowe said: "I am encouraging all residents of Shannon and people working in the town and surrounding areas to have their say on what is a very important and worthwhile local project.

"Once delivered, Shannon Town Park will act as a focal point for the wider community, and will also enhance the recreational opportunities for children, youths and adults in Shannon and surrounding areas."

The deadline for ideas and views is Friday, 02 December.
