Cork City Council has won an industry accolade for its work to bring derelict and vacant properties back into use.
The local authority was named as the winner of the Local Government initiative category at Engineers Irelands Excellence Awards 2016.
The award was given due to the council's work over the last two years to return over 800 properties to productive use.
The scheme was carried with the support of the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government (DHPCLG).
